Privacy Policy

The Evergreen Edit is a one-person small business operated by Emily, based in Anchorage, Alaska. Your privacy matters to me, and I want to be completely transparent about what information I collect, why I collect it, and how I keep it safe. This policy applies to evergreenedit.co, my email list, my style questionnaire, and any in-person interactions (such as markets or pop-up events).

1. What Information I Collect

When you place an order or fill out the style questionnaire, I collect:

  • Your name and email address

  • Your shipping address

  • Your payment information — processed securely through Stripe or PayPal. I never see or store your full card number.

  • Your style questionnaire responses, including measurements, style preferences, Pinterest board links, and any personal context you share

  • Order history and communication history between us

When you sign up for my email list, I collect:

  • Your name and email address

  • Any preferences you share at sign-up

When you visit my website, my hosting platform (Wix) may automatically collect:

  • Your IP address and general location

  • Browser type and device information

  • Pages visited and time spent on the site

  • Referring website or search terms used to find the site

This data is collected in aggregate and used only to understand how the website is performing. I do not personally identify visitors from this data.

At in-person markets or events, I may collect:

  • Your name, email address, and any style notes you share voluntarily

  • This information is stored securely and treated the same as online data

2. Why I Collect Your Information

I collect your information only for the following purposes:

  • To fulfill and ship your order

  • To curate your style box — your questionnaire responses are the foundation of the whole forage

  • To communicate with you about your order, your box, and any follow-up

  • To send you emails you've opted into, including newsletters, style updates, and exclusive offers

  • To process payments securely

  • To improve the website and customer experience

I do not use your information for any other purpose. I do not sell your data. I do not send unsolicited marketing. I do not share your information with third parties except as described in Section 4.

3. Your Style Questionnaire — A Special Note

The style questionnaire asks for personal information including your body measurements, style preferences, and sometimes personal context about your life circumstances. I take this trust seriously.

Your questionnaire responses are:

  • Used only to curate your box — nothing else

  • Stored securely and accessible only to me

  • Never shared with anyone outside of Evergreen Edit

  • Retained so I can serve you better if you order again in the future

You can request that your questionnaire data be deleted at any time by emailing hello@theevergreenedit.com.

4. Third-Party Services

Running this business requires a few trusted third-party tools. Each has its own privacy policy, which I encourage you to review:

  • Stripe or PayPal (payment processing) — handles your payment information. Neither I nor my website platform ever store your full card details.

  • Pirateship / USPS (shipping) — receives your shipping address to generate labels and track packages

I do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with any other third parties. Ever.

5. Email Communications

If you sign up for the Evergreen Edit email list, you will receive occasional emails including newsletters, style inspiration, new box announcements, and exclusive offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email — no questions asked.

Transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, personal follow-ups about your box) are sent regardless of your email list status, as they are necessary to fulfill your order.

6. Cookies

My website platform uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to make the site function properly. These cookies may be used to:

  • Remember items in your shopping cart

  • Keep you logged in to your account

  • Understand how visitors use the site (analytics)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may affect how the website functions. By using the site, you consent to the use of cookies as described here.

7. Data Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your personal information. All payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant third-party processors (Stripe or PayPal). My website uses SSL encryption. Your questionnaire responses are stored in password-protected accounts accessible only to me.

No method of data transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While I do everything I reasonably can to protect your information, I cannot guarantee absolute security. If there is ever a data breach that affects you, I will notify you promptly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal information I hold about you

  • Request that I correct any inaccurate information

  • Request that I delete your personal information (subject to legal or operational requirements, such as order records)

  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time

  • Withdraw consent for data collection at any time (note this may affect my ability to fulfill an order)

To exercise any of these rights, email me at hello@theevergreenedit.com. I will respond within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Evergreen Edit is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, please contact me and I will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

I may update this privacy policy from time to time as the business grows or as legal requirements change. When I do, I will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated via email to subscribers.
